The Durkan Group is a digital-first design and development studio creating purpose-built experiences. Though every branding and website project the studio crafts is built end-to-end with intention, the team came to realize that the same care and attention wasn't being paid to the studio's own branding. A complete overhaul of the visual language, voice and tone, and website design resulted in a hand-crafted experience that is purposeful, thoughtful and full of personality: just like the team at The Durkan Group.

The existing branding was dated and lacked purpose, consisting of a simple "D" set in a yellow tone that no one on the team could explain the meaning behind. To put emphasis on the collective culture of the studio, as opposed to just the name of the founder, setting all of the words in lowercase letters allows the mark to be read as an entire unit. The simple wordmark is flourished with what the team calls The Apex: the final output or expression, signifying reaching a milestone. This bright spot of teal serves as a representation of the final outcome of hard work, passion and problem solving. The symbol is used as one of the primary visual elements throughout the entire brand language.
